Mayfair Project — Ladies’ & Gents’ Toilets Renovation
British Virgin Islands London Office, Mayfair
I was commissioned to redesign and renovate the ladies’ and gents’ toilets at the British Virgin Islands London Office in Mayfair. The brief was to modernise both spaces while remaining sensitive to the heritage, character and formality of the building.
To achieve this balance, I introduced classic wall panelling to bring structure, elegance and a timeless feel. Soft, tonal paint colours were chosen to enhance the period detailing while creating a warmer, more contemporary atmosphere. Brass accents were incorporated for a subtle touch of luxury that reflects the building’s prestigious Mayfair setting.
Both rooms were fully reconfigured and updated with new flooring, sanitaryware, lighting and accessories. Thoughtful styling, layered textures and refined finishes completed the look, ensuring the spaces now feel cohesive, elevated and relevant—while still honouring the building’s original charm.
The result is a pair of beautifully refreshed washrooms that feel both modern and in keeping with the heritage of this distinguished London address.
